Fr. Raymond Herard, having studied Film in Los Angeles, California, found a renewed sense of faith while attending St. Dominic Catholic Church in Panama City. After five years of deepening his spiritual journey and embracing sacramental life, he answered God's calling to the priesthood. In 2013, Bishop Parkes welcomed him to study for the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee.
Growing up in an Air Force family and having lived around the world, Fr. Raymond has a diverse background. He enjoys movies, board games, disc golf, cooking, and sharing the beauty of the faith with others. He has recently started making his own ice cream, which is becoming popular with parishioners. Grateful to be part of the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church community, he was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Bill on June 5, 2021, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Fr. Raymond joined the Nativity community on July 1, 2021, serving as Parochial Vicar and Director of Catholic Campus Ministries at UWF. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Ministry with a concentration in the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius through the University of St. Mary of the Lake.
